Good morning, Brighton. In the US, millions cast their votes yesterday. We think that if you can navigate the Lanes without a map, you're already qualified for office. That puts me out the running.

What’s the Scoop
Sussex Business School Bags the Triple Crown
🏆 Move over, trophy cabinet. The University of Sussex Business School has just added AACSB accreditation to its existing AMBA and EQUIS badges, completing the much-coveted "Triple Crown". That puts it in the top 1% of business schools worldwide, which is quite the flex for a school just up the road from the Lanes.
The accolade follows a thorough international peer review, where inspectors praised the School's interdisciplinary research, policy influence, innovative teaching and student support. They also admired its collaborative culture and its links with business and society.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Sasha Roseneil called it "a major milestone", while Executive Dean Professor Ingrid Woolard thanked staff, students, alumni and partners for years of hard graft.
Not bad for a place that probably still can't find its way out of the Lanes. Take a look at courses available.
Vagabond Uncorks Brighton
🍷 Brighton, you're about to get a lot more pour-ential. Wine bar Vagabond has opened its 15th venue in the former Browns Brasserie site on Duke Street, a spacious 2,980 sq ft spot serving more than 100 wines through its signature tap-and-pour machines.

The list includes English wines from Vagabond's Urban Winery in Canada Water, made with grapes from Sussex and the South East under head winemaker Jose Quintana. The stainless-steel bar is a nod to the winery's tanks, and there's a dining room for private events and tastings.
Backed by Majestic Wine Group and Fortress Investment Group, Vagabond has grown from nine to 15 sites in 18 months.
Interim MD Graham Hall said the team is "buzzing" and has already had an incredible welcome from locals. We suspect a free glass or two may have helped. Book a Visit
Once Upon a Christmas Market
🧚🏼 Happily ever after starts early this year. The Fairy Tale Fair is back in Brighton for the first time in seven years, taking over the striking former church of St Augustine's Arts Centre on Stanford Avenue on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, from 11am to 4pm.
More than 40 local makers and creatives will be selling gifts, cards and treats, so you can tick off the Christmas list and support independent businesses in one go. There's also face painting for children, live performances, festive workshops and seasonal bakes and drinks from the in-house Cielo Cakery. 🍰
Best of all, entry is free. It's a short walk from Preston Park station, so you can pair it with a wander round the park or some late-night shopping in Seven Dials.

The Snowman Takes Flight Over the Pavilion
☃️ Walking in the air? More like walking past the Royal Pavilion. On Monday, images from Raymond Briggs' much-loved 1978 book were projected onto the landmark's facade, bringing the Snowman's famous flight home to Brighton.

The display was put on by Penguin Random House, which now owns original publisher Hamish Hamilton, together with Puffin Books and Brighton & Hove Museums. Briggs, who died in 2022, lived and worked in Plumpton and taught illustration at Brighton College of Art, now the University of Brighton.
Kate Turnbull of Brighton & Hove Museums called it "an unforgettable way to kick off the festive season". Francesca Dow of Penguin Random House Children's said the boy and the Snowman's flight over the South Downs, the Pavilion and Brighton Pier was a personal favourite.
The animated film will be shown at the Brighton Dome with a live orchestra on Saturday 19 December. Book Tickets.
Seeing The Snowman always gets us in the Christmas spirit.
