What’s the Scoop

The Great Escape Festival Announce 100 Acts

🤘 The Great Escape is teaming up with NME to bring Brighton-born indie heroes The Kooks back for a special 20th Anniversary Spotlight Show at TGE Beach on Wednesday 13 May 2026, marking 20 years since both the festival and the band’s debut album ‘Inside In/Inside Out’.

The show celebrates the album that gave us classics like ‘Naïve’ and ‘She Moves in Her Own Way’, with support from Irish/Cornish five-piece Girl In The Year Above. Standalone tickets will be available, with presales and general sale via The Great Escape. Alongside this, the festival has added 100+ new artists to the 2026 line-up, spanning indie, rock, rap, R&B, electronic and more. Over 450 emerging acts will play across 35+ venues in Brighton from 13–16 May 2026, keeping the city’s new music credentials very much intact. Checkout Full Line-Up 🎸

Royal Pavilion Garden Restoration Project

🪏 Brighton & Hove Museums has put up a bold new hoarding on New Road, the first visible sign that the Royal Pavilion Garden restoration is stepping up a gear. It marks months of behind-the-scenes planning, community consultation and fundraising, backed by £4.37m from The National Lottery Heritage Fund plus support from the council and the Wolfson Foundation.

The project will restore historic landscaping, protect rare planting (including much‑loved elms), improve accessibility, add learning resources and boost visitor engagement. The aim is to keep the garden safe, welcoming and beautiful for everyone—and ultimately get it off Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register. Bravo for the Royal Pavilion! Explore The Gardens 🌻

Store Next Door - Refill Station

Such a fab store, where to start on their refills - peanut butter, soaps, seeds, detergent, coffee, nuts….. you name it. Bring your glass jar back and start all over again without the need for single use plastics. Most excellent.
