London to Brighton Bike Rode 2025 & Cambridge for under a fiver.

Good morning, Brighton.

In today’s Brighton Scoop:

  • London to Brighton Bike Ride

  • Cambridge for under £15… surely not

What’s the Scoop

London to Brighton Bike Ride for BHF

🚴‍♂️ Thousands of cyclists joined the British Heart Foundation’s London to Brighton Bike Ride, tackling a 54-mile route starting at Clapham Common. Among the 14,000 participants, Mark Higgins and Simon Howe finished in just over two hours. While some join for the challenge, others like Tony Finch have personal motivations. The event, in its 49th year, is BHF's largest fundraiser, generating around £2 million annually for heart and circulatory research in the UK. Excellent event for an excellent cause. Well done all Brightonians that took place! Find out more about the British Heart Foundation.

Cambridge for under £15…

🚌 Flixbus the new operator in Brighton is offering routes to Gatwick, London and Cambridge from only £4.49. The new route will run twice daily in each direction, offering affordable coach travel to and from Brighton. Fares start from £4.49 to London, £3.49 to Gatwick Airport and £12.49 to Cambridge.

Great to have these new routes available at a more affordable level to compete with National Express & Southern Rail. Let us know how your experience goes?

Local Biz

🍺 Brighton Bier which kicked off in 2012 unfortunately ceased trading this week. Market pressures have put a lot of stress on small independent breweries such as Brighton Bier, so we’re sad to see them go. Luckily, it does not affect Brighton Bierhaus, Haus on the Hill, The Drop or West Tap which will all continue as normal so get yourself along there and support these gems this summer.

🥐 Real Patisserie opens at Brighton mainline station. The local chain will be opening its fifth store at the train station on the 23rd June after 28 years operating in Brighton & Hove. Great to see another local business booming.🎈
