Good morning, Brighton. What a weekend we just had with Nick Cave, Kylie & Pride taking over the city. It seemed as if the entirety of Brighton was swarming towards Preston Park on Friday afternoon (in fact it was just the 50,000) for the warm-up from The Flaming Lips & Bad Teacher before the main event. Blessed with some sunshine too, this weekend was Brighton, encapsulated.

Whatās the Scoop
Revel Puck Circus coming back to town
šŖ Hold onto your hatsāthe Revel Puck Circus is pitching its tent in Victoria Gardens from late August for a spectacular two-week run. This East London contemporary circus troupe brings A Glimmer Daze Gambit, a feel-good tale of two characters discovering their dream home: a circus.
Expect world-class acrobaticsāteeterboard, aerial cradle, cloud swings, and the showstopper: nine performers balancing on a giant rolling globe. It's largely non-verbal storytelling through mime and clowning, perfect for families and circus newbies.
The international cast hails from Argentina, the US, Ethiopia, and Canada, delivering pure theatrical magic. Shows run August 27 through September 6, with multiple daily performances across the Bank Holiday weekend and beyond.

Free childrenās bus travel this August
š Brilliant news for Brighton & Hove familiesākids under 16 are riding free on buses all August thanks to the Government's 'Great British Summer Savings' scheme. That means unlimited trips to the beach, parks, museums, and cultural spots without denting the wallet during the school holidays.
The offer works across all local operators: Brighton & Hove Buses, Compass Travel, and Stagecoach. Meanwhile, 16-18 year olds continue enjoying free travel with a paying adult in tow.
Transport bigwigs reckon it's a win-win: families save cash during an expensive time, while the city gets a boost in visitor numbers and local businesses enjoy the extra footfall. Cleaner transport tooābuses beat car journeys, naturally. Perfect timing for making those August memories without the financial headache! View all local Brighton offers where you can save up to 15%.
National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day
šŖ For the chocolate / biscuit lovers in town, Tuesday is your day to go indulge in a cookie or two. Obviously this day was born out of the USA where it honours the accidental invention of the treat by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938. Running the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts, she added chopped NestlĆ© semi-sweet chocolate to cookie dough, expecting it to melt. Instead, the chips held their shape, creating a global sensation.
My personal favourites are at Cielo Coffee House in St Augustineās Arts Centre on Stanford Avenue. Enjoy!
