What’s the Scoop

Daley Thompson swings by Moulsecoomb

🏃🏿‍♂️🫜 Renowned decathlete Daley Thompson, recently seen on Celebrity Big Brother, inaugurated the new Moulsecoomb Forest Garden's open kitchen with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Expressing admiration for the space and community, Thompson's visit left an inspiring mark. Cook Jo Pearson shared her excitement, highlighting the garden's enhanced ability to teach seasonal cooking and promote sustainability with its composting initiative.

Designed by Ian Barnett, the kitchen collaboration involved local businesses, supporting volunteers and contributing to employment opportunities. Event attendees, including over 50 volunteers, enjoyed a delicious meal amidst shared connections and laughter on June 3rd. Find out more info about this excellent community project here.

Who let the dogs out…🎶

🐕 The fenced off area of Blakers Park for over 40 years was a dog free zone for kids, games and picnics but the PSPO was accidentally allowed to lapse. We all love dogs and they’re allowed anywhere else in the park but help get the dog-free zone reinstated for all the people who like to use this area and sign the petition. As a local to Blakers, thanks!

The Meeting Place Cafe Refurb

☕️ The Meeting Place Café on King's Esplanade in Hove has transformed into a chic, modern space, now offering indoor seating for the first time since its opening in 1930. Enjoy seafront views regardless of the weather at this location, just 200 yards west of the i360 and the historic West Pier. Owners Hikmet Tabak and Bulent Ekinci revamped the café after securing planning permission on June 7, 2023. The café, still a dog-friendly venue, features customer toilets, wheelchair access, baby changing facilities, and WiFi, while serving delicious food and soft drinks from 7am to 5pm. Pop in and show your support of the revamp.
