King’s Rd Paddling Pool Makes a Splash & Free Child-safe Wristbands Available on the Beach

Good morning, Brighton…. the summer solstice has come and gone so it’s only downhill from here… only joking. Let the summer of parties begin 👯

In today’s Brighton Scoop:

  • King’s Rd Paddling Pool Makes a Splash

  • Free Child-safe Wristbands Available on the Beach

What’s the Scoop

King’s Rd Paddling Pool Makes a Splash

🏊 The Kings Road Paddling Pool will reopen for the summer after urgent repairs were completed in time for the school holidays. Located near the West Pier and Kings Road playground, the pool faced closure due to necessary safety repairs and nearby construction work. However, councillors prioritised keeping this vital, free resource open for local families during the busy summer months.

The pool is set to reopen on July 1st, after Freedom Leisure ensures everything is up to standard. The paddling pools and splash pools across the city are much loved by families during the summer months when looking for something free and safe to do outside.

Free Child-safe Wristbands Available on the Beach

🛟 Brighton beach visitors can now obtain free child-safe wristbands from RNLI lifeguard units, Brighton Pier, and local vendors to help reunite separated children with their parents.

An excellent initiative by The RNLI, collaborating with Sussex Police cadets, aims to ensure child safety amidst the beach crowd by making these HM Coastguard wristbands widely available. With a scorching weekend predicted, parents are encouraged to use these wristbands, keep close watch over their children, and take morning photos for identification. Such a great idea for families (and possibly friends who have had one too many) looking to enjoy a stress-free trip to the beach. More Info on RNLI Scheme
