6000 EV Lamppost Chargers Coming to Brighton

 🚙 Brighton and Hove will see over 6,000 lamppost electric vehicle (EV) charge points installed, expanding its EV infrastructure significantly over 15 years under a contract with Char.gy. Within the first three years, 1,800 charge points will be added, supported by £2.8 million from the DfT’s LEVI Fund.

The city plans over 7,000 charge points in total, including 1,000 fast chargers and 208 rapid chargers, aiming to boost sustainable transport and meet growing EV demand. The project, hailed by city officials and Char.gy, supports Brighton's net zero carbon goals and offers discounted tariffs for local residents and blue light employees. A much needed addition to the existing chargers across town for those who don’t have their own driveway (pretty much all of Central Brighton).

Brighton Restaurants Nominated in Uber Eats Awards

🍽️ We all know Brighton has a fab food scene but it’s great that several restaurants in Brighton and Hove, including Archipelagos Gyros, Cutie Pies & Fries - Detroit Pizza, Smokeys, Fresh & Grilled Piri Piri, Carlito Burrito, Wabi Sabi and Singapore Kitchen, have been shortlisted for the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year Awards 2025. The award recognises exceptional independent eateries across the UK and Ireland. All finalists receive a £5,000 cash prize and support from Uber Eats, with the overall winner securing £100,000 for business growth.

Although not on the list (as it’s not on Uber Eats), I visited Bincho Yakitori for the first time last month… oh my 🇯🇵.
